Well, one of the speakers is right next to the record player (in the video, it is barely visible to the left), and the other is several meters away (the record player itself is very close to my bed).

I am hoping to do a second video, with a record by some guy called Les Welch and his orchestra or something like that. He was well-known in Sydney apparently. Earlier today I bought online a CD that claims to have Australian music from 1910-1954 (in other words, public domain recordings). I hope the audio quality isn't too horrible, a lot of CDs of 78rpm-era tracks have a horrible "under-water" squeaky-digital sound.

Looking forward to hearing Les Welch! I used to have my dad's 78 record collection...great stuff...lots of big band, boogie-woogie, jazz, etc.
